Red & Pink Outfit Ideas For Valentine’s Or Any Other Day Pt I

I’ve just eaten delicious onion and potato perogies at the local farmers market, about to bask in the much awaited afternoon sunshine (we endured a snowstorm earlier in the week), and I get a flash of the red and pink Valentine’s special treats that caught my eye, at the chocolatier’s stall. Before I even seat my tush on the couch I dart to my closet and start dishing out everything that’s red and pink.

Hence I bring you this timely post. Bear with my selfie stick pictures, it does the job ( I hope) but would love to offer you more professional visuals. It is Valentine’s Day tomorrow and if you aren’t a fan of the cliched red,  I can assure that the outfits below, will have you happily wearing the candy hues, whenever they take your fancy. Sarah Jessica Parker once wore hot pink bell bottoms with a fiery red chiffon blouse, and that was it. I love that fashion is more forward and less compliant of rules with each passing year. Not only is love in the air, but so is this hot duo trend for the rest of the season.

So here I am sharing my Pink Red wardrobe with you, complied with pieces that are old and new.

1. Scarlet & Plaster Pink

  • Clean silhouette top in nude and orangey red offset the peach-pink soft hued knife pleat skirt. A contrasting colour like sky blue shoes cool off the hot and pastel tones. Girly vibes with just that bit of edge.

Details like the pointed toe in shoe, mimic the ‘V’ line in top and the rose tone metallic shoe accent matches the lines in the pastey pink skirt.

2. Tahitian Pink & Coral

  • Airy silhouette with a sashed silk blouse and flowy culottes. A fresh floral shade mix with nude peep toes and a touch of gold. Feminine vibes with elegance.

The delicate print of the Japanese Koi fish and the coral red blend well. With the colour covering most of the body, nuetral shoes balance it out. The collar sash and shoe bow detail tie together this feminine look.

3. Rose Red & Lilac Pink

  • It’s all about luster here. Satin and sequin come together in a glam, high boat neck satin top and A Line sequin skirt. The midi skirt length in lilac pink, subdues the bold red sheen. Sparkling vibes with modern silhouette.

The textures and contrast of bright and pastel colors make up the outfit. Accessories of a rose gold mesh belt and powder blue tie up shoes tone down the punch of red.

    4.Poppy Red & Magenta Pink

    • Colour play of cool and warm hues offset the vivid red and almost purple pink. Simple shapes of short sleeve top layered over a ruffled collar shirt with pencil skirt keep colours in check. Colour block vibes for a bold look

Knitwear, hosiery and play of shades add a tad bit nerd / librarian vibes to this colourful look. Olive green Mary Janes and teal tights are daring compliments for a not so shy of brights girl.

    5. Flesh Pink & Fire Engin Red

    • A pairing of skinny jeans and sporty blouse come together in a comfy yet stylish look. Youthful vibes in sporty chic.

Denim in solid red can be mixed with leopard court shoes. The almost nude pink with burgundy and bone trim dilutes the red just enough while the gold loafers compliment them. Both pattern and metallic shoes work.

While you indulge in these sensual colour combos I’ve put together five more looks! It’s the morning of Valentine’s Day now! Course, love can be celebrated year round and here’s wishing you guys an amore filled day. Let me know if any of these pink and red pairings took your fancy!
